Kobi is a gentle and sweet soul who has faced some challenges in her young life. She came to the DC PAWS family in 2016, and although she had previously been adopted, Kobi was returned to our care with some physical and behavioral health challenges, including significant fear of strangers and gastrointestinal issues. She has made some wonderful progress since coming back to us, and is living with a foster who has been committed to helping her get healthy, and to allowing Kobi opportunities for behavioral modification through counterconditioning, desensitization, medication. Kobi's foster has been giving her a stable and loving foster home, where she is consistently given opportunities for enrichment. Kobi's foster has been working with the support of our resident trainer, as well as a veterinary behaviorist, to support her health needs.
Kobi is doing very well in her foster home. However, she is not currently being placed for adoption. If you would like to support Kobi, please consider becoming a sponsor. Please note that this is not a comprehensive medical exam and as such, may not identify any and all medical issues, though our goal is to flag any obvious health issues through the basic vet screening. We share all medical records with adopters and flag any known issues prior to adoption finalization.
